Scrollbars in CSS

I read a tutorial on how you can completely change the scrollbar's colors and stuff in css, I did the tutorial, nothing changed ( I was using IFRAME ), then I copy and pasted the code, and even that didn't work. So tell me.

Could you provide a link to the tutorial?

External Cascading Style Sheets Controling scrollbarcolors

I know many browsers disable the customisation of scrollbars by default. Firefox 1.x and above is one of these browsers, I think (if supported at all).

The following page may be of some interest. I don't know how relevant it is.

You can only change th scroll color in IE, and I think that is only IE6.

I think Wildhoney just answered that question/problem. :)

As he said, you can change the variable in the "about:config" from firefox and make it changeable. You can also use a AJAX system for it. ;-)

As Aaron already said, scrollbar colors are only supported by IE and partially by Opera. Quirksmode has a good browser support list that verifies that statement.

If you want a crossbrowser solution you should use javascript, i.e. flexscroll, scroller.js using the prototype library or jScrollPane for jQuery.
