Grid Design
Although this title seems not to be really suitable with this subforum, it is absolutely relate with CSS's layout.
So far i have heard everybody on the net said: Grid is good, Grid is good!! i am really anxious to study it. Do you have some good sites to hunt for it??
Thanks in advance for sharing.

Yea, Design by Grid is an awesome website. On a website of my mine I was harping onto the designer about using grids for the design. I very much like The Guardian's grid layout, I think it's really impressive. I feel it's definitely the way to go as a designer, and from the client's side, it's much easier to say if it's going in the right direction before you begin applying all the fancy skin stuff to the design - which modifying that naturally takes more time than modifying some grid layouts.

From memory, the book Transcending CSS has a chapter on grid design, and a set of links. But I'm not at home and can't extract any for you...

Thanks for the very helpful resources, i plan to transfer my site to the grid focus after finishing this semester exams..
i feel that grid design saves many spaces for the contents of the site since my current one : www.karkiweb.com seems to be really narrow with less content.
Hey Dr John, i am curious to get that Transcending Css ebook, i have searched it through many sites, but i found none so far..:( Thanks in advance :)

The book on Amazon looks cheap enough, to be honest. Depending on where you live though, of course.

Asia, especially the poor country as mine is really difficult to order the online book. The shipping price is always twice more that the book price. That's embarrassed..:(

I feel for you I had a scout around just a minute ago but couldn't find anything for you, either. Although I did find this presentation eBook by the same guy. I believe it's a freebie, although I could be mistaken.

It seems as the though the guy gave away his Transcending CSS book away free until he found a publisher. It's on Archive.org but the direct link doesn't appear to work for me:

The link is not to the book, but to a presentation about the book. It has some samples from the content, but not all of it.
Some samples are also available from the author's site at
http://transcendingcss.com/support/ But as it is still selling well, any ebook version you find that is the whole book is a bootleg, illegal copy.

Yep, most certainly a presentation. It looks good though. Some good examples by the looks of it if you can interpret them well.

Incidentally Mubs, do you own DesignByGrid, or did you simply design it? I've seen it around numerous times in many various places around the Interweb.

Mubs owns and designed DeisgnByGrid. I am a big fan of Designing by grid. The grid maintains the flow of the content.

Yep, DBG is my site, designed, developed and am maintaining it.
When I started using grids in my designs I realized what a powerful tool they were, but was surprised to see there wasn't really a central place to find out more about them, so I created it...
