Default vBulletin Tutorials

Hi all,

As I was browsing around the site I kept seeing you guys talking about vBulletin modding. As such, here's 3 tutorials I wrote a while ago relating to vBulletin modifications - hopefully they will be of help to someone :)

They where written for vBulletin 3.5 but should work for more recent versions

(note: I'm afraid I don't use vBulletin anymore and haven't done for a over a year so won't be much help if you have any questions :D)

Using the vBulletin Database Class - vBulletin.org Forum
Using the vBulletin Input Cleaner - vBulletin.org Forum
Creating Custom Datamanagers - vBulletin.org Forum

Thanks Alan :)

How comes you don't use vB anymore? You are missed on the vborg I'm sure!

Hi Brook,

I used vBulletin on a couple of projects a few years back so started writing mods for those sites which I then released on vBorg. In the end I think I wrote about 35 mods and released 22 of them. After my involvement with the websites that we where running vB on ended, it didn't make much sense to continue paying for vBulletin just to write free mods

Ah right, maybe you should start a vB site of your own up lol.

Seriously tho, maybe you could start creating paid plug-ins? There is a call for quality and affordable plug-ins for vB imo, even small ones.

If I remb rightly, the thank you hack (used here too!) is one of your creations as well :D

I did write a thankyou addon but never released it :)

My released vB mods where:

Code:
PM Moderation
Moderation Auto-PM
Redirect to Forum after Posting New Thread
Quick (Inline) User Editor
vBPunch - A Quick Warning System
QuickClip - A Clipboard for Users
Per-Thread Moderation
Make Sticky Threads Bold
Inline (Ajax) Subscription Management
Exclude Banned Members from Membercount
Disable Hard Thread/Post Deletions
Remove Forum Category from Navbar
Display Forumjump Menu on Forum Home
Auto-PM to Staff when a User is Banned
AdminCP Todo Lists
Users Awaiting Email Confirmation - Selective PMs
Allow users to sticky their own threads
PM on Thread Move
Disable BBCode per Usergroup
Inline Usernote Adder
Latest Thread on Forumhome
Allow all mods to view deleted threads
And it's unlikely I'll go back to writing addons for it now - no forum to write them for and I'm too busy (read: lazy) to start a forum of my own

Alan.

Ah that's it, the auto moderation hack! Knew it was quite a popular hack you did :)

Shame you won't be doing any more vb coding, you were one of the select 'trusted' coders I think :D

If I ever need a 'paid' coder I might give you a buzz in the hope you have some spare time! :D

That's definitely a really extensive list of vB mods you have under your belt, Alan !
