Just so you know codefreek. I'm going away on the 1st of aug for 2 weeks~ on a cartrip in europe. So don't assign me to anything that needs to be done in the beginning..

This project is on hold until we get what we need.
More information will come on a later time.

Be honest, do you ever think this project will take off? You have made almost no progress apart from doing what I kept PMing you so far, when I stopped you stopped. For that reason, I am anything but convinced this is going to happen.
Now before anyone comes and calls me a pessimist, am I wrong or have past events not lined up with what I say?

Well, if it's any consolation, this project is still moving ahead much quicker than any government operation I've ever seen.

Summed up:
1. Lots of talking about the project (what will we do? Who does what?)
2. Codefeek takes the lead for this project.
3. Lots more talking and some planning.
4. Lots of time passes.
5. Now.

Ok, so what do we actually need? - vB Project tools - been offered but not delivered. Not essential, could use flyspray/similar.
- CVS - not sure what's happening with this, did WH say he could set one up here?
As far as I'm concerned all we need is this subforum (with a clean), CVS access, a task list (which will be easy enough have a take what you want list) and a decision on coding standards. Do we actually need anything else to get started?

A clear direction on what we are doing and where we are going, that is more important than anything.

Well as far as I know here's an overview of what needs doing:
- We are developing a user-installed media gallery
- We have a list of people interested in taking part and enough to cover what we need. We may have to check who's still interested (but I expect we still have enough people).
- We have a bug-tracking environment (Project Tools) which needs to be installed here.
- We have a location for a CVS respoitory but it needs to be set up.
- We don't have a standard for everyone to follow. If we can't make up our own we should use an already established standard.
- We don't have a task list for people to assign themselves to.
It doesn't look so hard when it's in a list Did we ever decide on a coding standard? I can draw up a task list which can be edited etc.
Also this sub-board needs to be rethought a bit. I've been told not to post new topics which seems a little counter-productive. The downside of using a forum is not being able to edit the original post so edits need to be posted in replies - not hard but a little more complex.

Codefreek did very little as leader, he has done nothing recently. He will never get this project done. If you want to, I would advise you to take the lead. I believe he offered it to anyone else somewhere in the thread.

Just as an addendum to my previous post, it seems I'll be working out of the country for a little longer than planned (two more weeks). After then, I'll be free to step on peoples' toes and be a bossy boots. Until then, I'll get back to digging holes in the ground. :)
