My php/javascript blog

Hi all,

I must admit that having been a php developer for many years now I have never seen TalkPHP website, which so far looks great. A shame that I only found it now.

But enough about that. Of course the reason I am posting is for you to review my website that I have had since March, 2009. I called it Codeaid and you can find it at http://codeaid.net.

I'll be honest, I've had ridiculous (in its direct meaning) number of visitors a day - on average from none up to 2-4 a day. Until this day I've had 325 uniques. I myself would like to think that the website does not look that bad (although I designed it myself :) ) and it loads pretty quickly. Except I'm far from good at making it popular.

What am I doing wrong? Should I change the language (the way I write)? Should I post articles about something else, some simpler aspects of PHP? Or maybe something else that I haven't thought about?

Any help will be much appreciated!

Thanks!

I'm not exactly sure what you are asking. If you are getting over 300 uniques a day, you are clearly doing something right, not wrong. Can you pinpoint any possible action that could have done this?

No, no. I guess I didn't explain correctly - I am getting on average 1-2 (which I think is appalling) uniques a day. 320 is the total number since 1st of March, 2009.

Oh, I see. Marketing a blog is tough, the content has to be original and in demand. One method I've found useful back when I ran one was to post articles on forums and have a link at the end going to my site. Established forums have excellent SEO and a good userbase so your article has a higher chance of being found. You should also read up on SEO and see how much you can optimize your site.

Twitter. Nuff said.

Pingomatic.com - if your blog software doesn't already update this automatically, add it. Lots more like it too.
