Bicycle shop

My latest little project just went live tonight. A simple and clean website that gets to the point. Hope you like it.

Fietsen Kris ("Fietsen" is Dutch for "Bicycles")

The main challenge was making the design work (more or less) in Internet Explorer (6).

Looking good Geert! Also made the design yourself? :)

Thanks, Jim. Yes, designed everything myself, including the little logo.

Many typos :) no just kidding don't know dutch^^
Design seems GREAT, even the "Promoties"-Part stops next to the logo, but... as far as I understand this site, there's not very much information about your bikes on it, I would make sth like a "guide", means: You can check either your age or/and the kind of bike you like, your height, the price you would like to pay, and then you'll get some pictures with a short information under them, and when you click on those pics, you'll get a bigger pic using lightbox2 -> Lightbox 2

So, great site, little content, but would still get an A :)

Well, actually I agree on most points with you, netsnake. However, you have to know where this site comes from. In the old design you had to click for example two times to look at the opening hours (contact > opening hours). This, and other much looked for information, was hidden. The owner of the shop often had to explain over the phone where to click. When it comes to that point, something is wrong with the information architecture, lol.

So, I'm just saying the choice for this new one page layout is made very consciously. Not just because of the lovely scroll effect. And while the "guide thing" may be a nice idea in itself, I think it surpasses the goal (and budget) of the site. We are talking about a small local one-man company here. Hey, but thanks for your input!

You see, I'm always thinking big :)
