Default Gaming Site Redux

Myth: The Wind Age

I still have a few more things to do with this rebuild/redesign, but it's complete for the most part. I still need to implement pretty URLs, add 1 or 2 more items to the sidebars, change a few things in the forum template, and finishing adding the last of the static content. Should all be done by tomorrow night, I just can't keep myself awake any longer right now. =P

The rebuild of this site has been something I've wanted to do for a while now because it wasn't done right the first time. I took my time more this time around and tried to work up a design that was much more pleasant to look at. The guts of the site are so much more improved I get that "what-in-the-hell-was-I-doing?" feeling when I look through the old coding.

I used the same simple but effective template system I built for my portfolio site. I'm actually glad it's so efficient for a larger site like this one. Page loading times are way better now. This is also due to the fact that every single rendered page's total size (including images, javascripts, etc) weighs in at about 140kb or less. I was trying to keep total sizes below 100kb, but I got greedy with the images. =)

This is what the old site looked like: http://m2v.atomicgamer.com/ereb/inc/gfx/m4site.jpg

Any feedback would be appreciated.
