So i'm looking for a way to decode an array containing encoded html special characters, without using a foreach so I used array_map to encode them, why not use it to decode them?

Agreed, using jQuery without knowing what it is actually doing is a disaster waiting to happen, true you get extensions that make your life easier but what happens when you need to change something...

Transactions are pretty easy to implement just execute the following in this order;
# Start the SQL Transaction
mysql_query("begin transaction");
Then execute any update/delete/insert queries
