Resize/Thumbnail Images With PHP
I wrote this tutorial a while ago, and I think it's fantastic :-P
I spent months trying to come up with the perfect image resizing/thumbnailing script, and this script really does the job! Link here |
cool! I have use a similar script from here: Nodstrum Blog Archive Image Manipulation using PHP, which works fine for me. That script also allows one to resize, rotate and do a few other things with the image. It looks like you have a form that allows people to upload images and create thumbnails from it, good stuff! I have had issues while handling images that are more than 1MB (on my shared server). Any idea how one can make the script easily handle large images?

A good read there, Daniel! Can you rotate images in GD? I didn't realise it was so extensive. Though I'd really like to know if it's possible to apply filters to images to skew the image - much like Google do with their captcha images. But up to now, no avail :-( !

Ah very handy. Thanks! I'll have to install ImageMagick and give it a try. I've only ever played with GD, and then I've only done things in it that I've really needed to do.
