TalkPHP Rules

General

  • No profanities to be used in your posts. Although these will be starred out, it does look rather immature nonetheless.
  • Debates are welcomed, however, do not reduce the debate to a personal level where personal insults are thrown about.
  • Personal criticism of an individual's code is more than welcome, but as per above, provide only constructive criticism.
  • If you have a complaint about a particular user or moderator, please PM Wildhoney or Karl and we will take care of it.
  • No offensive avatars must be used. Jocular approaches are welcomed but please be willing to remove it upon request.
  • Please keep any forum bumps to a minimum. If you do not receieve a reply within 24 hours, by all means bump it.

Links

  • By all means link out to articles on your blog/website, so as long as the website is not a forum that deals with PHP.
  • Continuting on from the previous link, you must post a substantial introduction and then link through at the bottom.
  • Links must not forward users to a website where they are forced to register. No affiliation links either, whilst we're at it.

Signatures

  • A maximum of 3 external links (including emails) in your signature space.
  • Limit the colour usage to a sensible amount - use your personal judgement for this, moderators will tell you if they think it's overkill.
  • No advertising of forums that deal with PHP. PHP blogs and other various PHP related websites are acceptable.

We reserve the right to modify and amend these rules at any time without notice. It is your responsibility to remain informed of current TalkPHP policies.
