TalkPHP Makeover
We've had a little makeover - code wise, which has, as you can see, affected the visuals as well! I do hope you all like where TalkPHP is going visually. We'll be adding the option to switch between the top formatting and left formatting as discussed in this thread.
We now have some free time over the next month or so and so we'll be pushing TalkPHP again to entice in more visitors. Writing more articles, etc. as well as adding them to social networking sites - which has helped a lot since we hit the front-page of Digg, as well as StumbleUpon, and all the various tutorial websites, like Pixel2Life.
Once we've released a site we're in the process of planning now, shouldn't take too long, we'll be running many competitions on TalkPHP for various things, and giving away lots of goodies! So that's most certainly something to look forward to. We will also be introducing member of the month and other awards for various things very shortly..
All coming this way! Stay tuned.

Hey Wildhoney,
Why don't you join up on LinkedIn, Facebook and Plaxo and we make it a professional group for Php Developers (on linkedin I already started one, pointing to a yahoo group).
I also know a few people at Zend, some people behind phpcommunity and a few phpwomen.org members, They always refer to php sites they find interesting, so if you don't mind I'll spread the word.
BTW, get some cool logo's ready (if you have a graphical Einstein nearby), we can put those on our blogs and the likes.
For anyone interesting in hooking up with me, just google for Michelangelo van Dam and choose your poison(s). If you're connecting, be sure to provide your nick and that you're a TalkPHP member

DragonBe, that sounds really promising :) I will be sure to sign up to those sites tomorrow - first thing! Thank you very much. I'll have to hunt down my regular graphical geniuses! See if they're up to the task. We can then get things moving.

Glad to see everyone is liking the changes. We integrated an article system too, but we've been having license troubles and had to take it down temporarily. Hopefully that should be up within a day or two and we can organise all these great articles we have :)

How do you mean by "completely custom"?
Yes, I'd class it as completely custom. It was also a real pain in the arse to do :)

Oohhh ;) lool
I thought that it was like.. request/claim award, like that I'd got the award, but I have to.. click to get it.
Because all of them wasn't with "request award", only.. 5~
And I kinda clicked them all, lol.. :D
Anyways, thanks for the heads up ;) And thanks for the award :)

Ouch!!
Now you have to re-do some stuff more =///
With the release of vB 3.7.0, you'll need some more template editing :(

I hope we aren't going to have 3.7.0 installed. It's not worth it.

Why not?
It's got alot of nice features.
Such as for example:
Thread tagging
Thread prefixes
Public messages
Editable style on profile page
It's just... OWNAGE!!

They're really just taking stuff from social networking sites and popping them in, those features aren't really required for this forum.
