Bug [Seeking Mentor]

Hey All

I'm looking for someone to talk with on msn/yahoo about php. I'm just getting started and I just need someone to ask questions.. give me tips.. give me ideas.

I've been reading tutorials and trying to customize login systems just to get the hang of things. The part I'm having problems with is that I can't really seem to find any very simple things to get started on. Most things I read are catered more for someone who has a fairly decent understanding already.

I'm looking to get into php to develop user management/chat scripts/forums kind of coding.

Anything else you want to know just let me know

Edit: I'm not looking for a php guru here. ANYONE who is more skilled in php than me would be most welcome to help me out. Even if you're a php beginner I'd still be happy to talk with you about anything :)

------
It's nice to see that this thread has had over 50 views yet nobody seems to have enough time to leave a reply to convey their interest to help. Possibly one of the reasons why every PHP article or tutorial I read mentions the amount of "crappy coding habits" around these days. Seems nobody is actually insterested in helping people learn the basics.

So this thread is no longer needed. Seeing as the community I have requested help from appears to be unable or unwilling.
