Default This place is a mess.

I used to come TalkPHP a few years back to read up on php and to view the brilliant sarcastic discussions between the staff. Now there is spam and it seems inactive. I took the liberty to register and now if I notice anybody coming here for help with php I will do my best to assist. I hope some moderator comes online and cleans the spam up a bit.

I agree that the spam is a bit off putting. I got here looking for help and stayed because of the welcoming community, but I am not letting spam ruin that. I just don't pay attention and report the spamming messages. I try to help as much as I can now, to give back to the community. Last time I heard, there are plans to diminish or fix completely the spamming.

Welcome back.

There are no active moderators. What this place needs is someone to take care of the site properly, the owner(s?) clearly don't give two hoots. Even one person to keep the forum software updated, keep on top of replying to new posts, generally look after the place would be a huge improvement.

I agree to at least setup active moderators to keep the wheel going.

I would advise against anyone volunteering themselves, even (especially) if only for spam cleaning activities. I understand the need and desire to keep the forums tidy, but this place deserves much, much more than that.
