Geert *waves*
Just saying hello to everybody! :-)
Very nice PHP community you seem to have here. Decided to join after reading some quality articles. About me? I have quite some PHP coding experience, doing some freelance work here and there as well, but I'm still hungry for much more. Hopefully we can learn a lot from each other. Regular expressions and code optimization are topics that specifically interest me. Maybe you have heard of the Kohana Framework already? I happen to be in their dev team. Also, I love to design. You know, Photoshop, HTML/CSS and that stuff. Maybe I'll post some of my better projects in the Show Off forum. See you around! |
Hey Geert! You sure sound like you know your stuff. :)
Welcome to the community. ^^ |
Hi Geert, welcome to TalkPHP.
I've been lurking around the CodeIgniter forums for a long time (I rarely post there) and have been following the Kohana project closely. I really liked the introduction of "code optimisations" to help make CI that bit more efficient. Good to have you here. :-) |
Kohana looks very intriguing. I will have to look more into that. I love your avatar. Loved Link since the very first Zelda. In fact, I d/l from Nintendo the Version for my Wii.
|
First time I played Zelda was the Ocarina of Time on the Nintendo 64! I got well past the mid-way point where everything turns evil, but I think the game gradually started to depress me after that as everybody who was previously welcoming me and shaking my hand, wanted to stab me between the ribs :-( !
I've never actually heard of the Kohana project, but as you and Salathe seem to know much about it, I can see us hearing a lot about it in due time. |
Thanks all, for the warm welcome, on this rainy and windy December day.
@ Salathe: Nice to hear people remember me as "the guy from the CI optimization topics". I can tell you, they're all implemented in Kohana. And by the way, you seem to have a very solid of regular expressions as well! @ thegrayman and Wildhoney: I love a good game from time to time and the Zelda series definitely rock. Other favorites include Paper Mario and MarioKart. Mainly Nintendo stuff. |
Hi Geert, I'm a bit late with this greeting but welcome to TalkPHP :-)
|
I loved paper mario too, some very good mental puzzles.
|
I actually played the original Zelda on the NES. And then Zelda 2 (or whatever that's called) later.
I'm actually everyday here and on the Kohana PHP forum trying to further my knowledge. |
