...and now for something completely different...

Hey guys... Name's David. I'm a budding PHP developer - i.e. the person who's most likely to ask all the stupid questions. :-P

The only real programming language I have a background in is TP, so at least I'm grounded in the basics... or the ancient basics. Don't get me wrong tho, I've been dabbling in php for quite a while, but I'm still learning.

I'm a web / graphic designer from South Africa... who also happens to be studying law.

If you wanna know anything else, be sure to ask. As long as it has nothing to do with Zend, I'll be fine. :D

TP being Turbo Pascal? I admit, I had to Google it to find out what you meant by TP! Pascal's supposed to be an awesome language, isn't it? I know it's rather basic, but I've heard from people who code in it that it's quite powerful in its only little way.

We enjoy all the stupid questions over here! It keeps people like Haris, Winsrev and co. fully learned in the PHP basics. They love it really!

Still, welcome to the community, David! I hope you enjoy your stay. And don't forget, any questions, just ask.

Welcome to the community! I will admit too, I have no idea what TP is either. :-P

Enjoy! ^^

Hi David, I'm not a rambler like Wildhoney so I'll just come out and say it, Welcome to TalkPHP :-)

Thanks :-)

Yeah, Turbo Pascal... It was the old DOS version of Pascal, so things have moved on quite a bit since then with OOP etc.

Well, I'm sure my questions won't be too stupid, but just giving you the heads up.

You had me puzzled with your signature. I thought it said mom for a good 30 seconds, and then I realised! My bad :-) TP is the acronym I use for TalkPHP as well !

Welcome :-)

Thanks for the welcome guys. Got lots of reading to do on the forum now. You people write too much... Just kidding. Nice to have so many discussions on different aspects, functions, etc.
