Howdy!

Hey all,

With the release of PHP 5 and its strong support for OOP I have ditched .NET and embraced PHP for every project I can.

I'm fairly new to PHP, and rapidly learning all of its built-in functionality, but a seasoned veteran of HTML, JavaScript and CSS.

I leave near Toledo, OH, USA and hope to meet other developers internationally as well as locally.

Talk to you soon!

Welcome to the community. Nice to see another new face!

With the release of version 5, they've definitely injected a lot of fun back into programming because of the limitless things you can now achieve using the OOP approach.

Modular style programming was becoming quite banal in PHP 4. OOP in PHP 4 just didn't cut it and wasn't worth the time and effort trying to do so, and so I'm not surprised you took to .NET. Although admittedly I haven't indulged myself into .NET, it's never caught my eye. Albeit I was technically supposed to have it as one of my skills in my previous job. Not that they ever asked me to do anything in .NET. Thankfully!

See you around.

Hello from me too. I'm from El Paso, TX and do mostly charity websites.

I know enough PHP, HTML, javascript, and CSS to be barely functional and mostly dangerous.

As I scan the articles and these pages, I cannot help but notice that I've barely scratched the surface of what is possible. A little more knowledge, I am sure, will go a long way.

Thank you for letting me in.

Charity websites. Quite interesting. Care to tell us more? I'm quite the curious one. It's a pleasure to have you here!

Well, hopefully obvious is the Miracle League of El Paso which is little league baseball for children with special needs. It's my first major site and I'm in the process of negotiating taking over the maintenance of another site (which by my count is half mine, so is why I used the plural). Not sure if negotiating is the right word, since I won't get paid for it.

When I get it, I will list it here, but I don't want to take credit for work that isn't mine.

Welcome!

Well, any charity-based websites that you feel would be suitable for a link on TalkPHP, Sand Devil, just let me know. Do my bit for charity and all!

It wasn't my intention in joining, but I won't be dumb enough to turn down free advertising.
