Asterix Hello

Hi everybody,

I've always been a reader of talkPHP from searching tutorials on pixel2life.com. This site has been very helpful to me almost everyday because of some of the advanced topics covered here that you can't find information about anywhere else. So I'm going to try and give back to the community and, in the meantime, try to meet some new people and learn some new things.

I have been programming in PHP for about 2 years solid and about 2 years off and on. Most of my PHP experience is not in OOP, though now I do everything in OOP. I work in Tulsa, Oklahoma at Diverge, Inc. I also do graphics in my spare time and dabble in ActionScript every now and then.

Welcome to the community! Are you in agreement that Adobe have really messed up ActionScript with version 3? It used to take every unconventional route possible, now it's completely on its head - and just like a turtle, it's perpetually stuck in that position. Grrr at Adobe.

Actually I've only used AS 3.0 a few times, but the times that I have used it, it really seems odd. Maybe one day I wont need a job and I can get back into ActionScript and make little flash toys all day long.... those were the days :(

Welcome to Talkphp m8,

As for AS 3, i havent used flash since college (back in the days of Macromedia Flash MX, which was many many moons ago now) so i haven't come across it yet but it doesn't surprise me that adobe made a dog's breakfast of it.
