Salutations; Fellow Programmers and Scripters Alike

Let me begin my introducing myself. My name is Shafique Arnab and despite the fact that my username has an "11" in it, I am actually much older. I was actually referred to this site by WildHoney from TalkFreeLance. I am a professional web developer with expertise in PHP, HTML, and Actionscript (CS2; I do not consider myself an expert in CS3).

And that pretty much sums me up. :) I hope to learn lots on this site and I also hope that there is lots I can teach.

-Cheers,
Shafique

Personally I don't know what they've done with ActionScript CS3. CS2 was bad enough with the way it did things, but in CS3 they've gone and over-complicated matters even more - piling more inconsistencies on top of more inconsistencies. There's definitely an open market out there right, especially considering the appalling excuse of a documentation that Adobe have put out for ActionScript. I can really see Microsoft's Silverlight taking the bull by the horns and trampling all over Adobe's Flash.

Nevertheless, I'm sure you'll hear a lot more of my opinions on the inside :) So let me say welcome to the community, Shafique! Hope you enjoy your stay.

I agree with your opinion on CS3. CS2 wasn't that bad if you came from a PHP or Javascript background. But when they rolled out CS3, they tried to change it into a more sophisticated, OOP-style language similar to that of C; and they failed miserably. They just ended up adding useless functions and making things even more complicated than they originally were.

Anyways, glad to be here Adam. :)
