Lost on a Deserted Island

(I think this is meant to be a team building game thing...)

If you would be stranded on a deserted island and you can only bring one object with you, what would it be and why? It has to be something that you can carry, I guess an inflatable boat is ok... but... well its upto you.

Think of Tom Hanks on Castaway, just like that.

I think I would bring a doll, the one on my avatar. If im gonna lose my mind, might as well talk to something cute instead of a ball with a drawn face.

A satellite phone, if a plane fell off course there has to be a satellite somewhere in the area that it communicated with.

I'd bring you cecilia. Hopefully I'd be able to carry you (since that's a requirement) and the other option would be VI who I don't think I could carry. If I'm going to lose my mind, might as well talk to a real person for a while first!

If people are out of the question, I'd take a sharp knife. Survival is so much easier with one than without. :-)

Well I think an average sized guy can carry me, but sadly, no humans.

If the island was unreachable, I would bring an AK-47 equipped with a light, bayonet and 100rd drum magazine. This is because hunting would prove very hard for me at first, I would like my first meals with assistance from a gun. I choose the AK because I don't have cleaning supplies. The light could be useful at night and the bayonet is a knife.

And yes, it is technically one item.

Eh, I would bring a knife. That or (waterproof) matches.

Because yes, I would know to bring a knife on the "off" (divided by 0) chance of becoming lost on an island.

You have an undefined chance of crashing?

adamdecaf 07-03-2009 05:35 AM

You would have an undefined chance of knowing that your going to crash, unless of course you are able to bend the 6th dimension and see your possible 5-D outcomes (aka being able to see the crash before you even buy your ticked).

Ya...

I would bring a solar powered laptop with verizon or att network card built in, Think of all the work you could get done getting food would then prove to be difficult but an exciting adventure that I would enjoy.

You'd need rounds that wouldn't poison the carcass once you shoot it.

Having camped for a large portion of my life oft alone, I'd be fine with a hunting knife. Using a decent size stick and a large rock one can make deadfalls which will kill the small pray one is usually interested in whilst in the kind of situation.

Standard brass .308 Remington rounds? Its the same stuff that hunting rifle's bullets are made out of (just a different caliber). I just wouldn't use cheap Russian ammunition thats made of lead.

I chose the AK because it can come with a massive magazine, useful accessories, and basically never jams even in terrible conditions.

Now I'm thinking "I'm glad there's a barrier between us, and our only form of communication is this forum". :-P
