Confused slow

So... why is it that most php forums that I've found are just dead. This one isn't exactly hopping with excitement but at least you can get reasonable answers fairly quickly.

Are people putting up php forum sites for fun and then abandoning them?

I am not complaining at all about TalkPhP, you guys are probably the most active place I've found.

Well I've said the same thing myself. I think there's just too many PHP forums out there so they get watered down....

I really like this site, terrifically designed. It just needs more traffic....

I thought the same think the first week I signed up. But I like this blog, because it's simpler to understand then others.

Also is not also the forums, but pretty much most of the errors, or questions you can have about php can be found through google or some other search engine, although i like talkphp because of the sense of being in a cool community, that it doesn't create content as constantly as hacker news, but still keeps you up on stuff, plus the respond to your questions are fast too.

I Like It Here. I Like It A Lot. :P inside joke

I like it too, otherwise I wouldn't keep coming back to ask my dumb questions.

This is good middle of the road coding forum.

I participate in few other like codeguru.com/forum and phpbuilder.com/board (in fact after I post this I will skip over to them and see who needs help). I believe they both have 100,000 or more members, each. I am convinced you can get the answers here just as well as those places just there it may be a touch faster. As well, there, you will find people with more knowledge in various niches of a given language, which may or may not be what you need.

Anyway all that was said to prove there are some very good and super active forums out there, if you feel you need one.

I personally like it here. You can get to know people here verses just always dealing with a strangers in the other 2. I have a few people in the other 2 forums that if I run into a particularly difficult question I can rely on them to know the answer but other than that, here is fairly cool place.

On the comment on using google it is true you can find your answers there. And your all going to laugh at this. But in the last week in these forums alone I bet I have answered 5 or more questions where I just ran over to google typed in the search criteria and came back and posted the answer. So, sorry if I am not as smart as you all thought .

And if google don't know I can usually turn to php.net
