Best way to recover lost files from a harddrive?

Hey, i was asked a question before what is the best program or way to recover files that was lost in a format + new os install.

and one that works 100% i said some programs but, i then started to think is
there any programs that is realy great like the ones Pros use?

So if you have any ideas to this question please do answer

i know this is a no brainer question but just for fun i will ask :)

I used some application simply names NTFS recovery or something like that, recovered my whole HDD :)

I use GetDataBack for NTFS.
