Bit of a java question
 

Well I'll be taking AP Computer Science A and I read the course study and it's going to be java-centric and was wondering if y'all had an IDE recommendation? I know of NetBeans/Eclipse but I was wondering if there are any other out there that you'd recommend.

Eclipse is kind of overkill for anything you will do in that class. Its a great piece of software but sometimes just to much. I would run Dr. Java if you want a really simple editor thats pretty user friendly, for small programs such as the ones you would be doing in this class.

I also recommend Dr.Java

In my opinion it's worth getting your head around NetBeans/Eclipse.

More frequently experience in Eclipse can be seen in job specs.

I personally use NetBeans and Eclipse. NetBeans contains a great profiler which can be useful.
