Default SVN on Windows

What does everybody here use for SVN on Windows? I've been playing with SmartSVN and TortoiseSVN, but I'm finding myself to be really stupid when it comes to these things.

All the documentation I've read is very very helpful for checking out an SVN repository, but none of it's very helpful on setting it up initially in the first place. Start with an empty directory, set it up as an SVN, etc... well, my SVN on sourceforge doesn't have any files in it to check out, so....

Oh great, I think I figured it out (using import and tortoiseSVN) and now it's recursing through my sub-directories which means it's importing phpmyadmin into my repository. I hope it's easy to take that out.

I am using tortoiseSVN for work, I think it works great. Dont ask me how to set it up though, I didn't do that...

I'm using TortoiseSVN, it's very easy to use although it used to slow my filesystem down to the point that opening windows explorer crashed. Thankfully this bug appears to have been fixed in the latest release.

Have you committed your changes? if not I think you might be able to remove them, though I'm not entirely sure...
