Project Management Software/Script
 

Hey.

I'm getting a lot of idea's when it comes to adding features for a project I want to do, but I'm pretty forgetful and feel I should write them down. I realise I could do this in MS Word, but I'd like to know if their is software or scripts out their that help you plan out your upcoming projects, to help you out.

If anyone has any links to somewhere where I could get one (for free) then I'd appreciate that!

Have a look at ProjectPier.org - a great open source collaboration program.
If you prefer something a little more... commercial, then there's also http://www.basecamphq.com/ , but I personally prefer projectpier :)

Our company used basecamp (www.basecamphq.com) for project management purposes and it changed the email email games we used to play. Though we find out some even better product named www.proofhub.com provided the same or you can say better services at a cheaper and effective price. Now we see that various complexities we used to face have almost vanished to a high extent. I realy thank these products to make project management such an easy task.

We use it as work. Also, To poster above dunno if you're a spam bot or a real person but "proofhub" has none of it's pages actually working. I think you might wanna manage your own project first before offering to SaaS to manager others.

The proof*** looks like an exact replica of basecamp?

Yes basecamp would be good. It's user-friendly interface makes it easy for people to use and aside from that, it's also cheap. Another great software I can recommend is Zoho Projects. It got a lot of features aside from the basic ones like time tracking, document/file sharing, etc. If you are confused of which project management software to use, you can read reviews of them found in blogs or forums.

It would be great too if you can find a comparison table of the various project management software which are the most popular nowadays being compared by each other and also where you could also see what features the software can offer.

You can always use Github, Google code, Sourceforge or any websites like that if it is going to be an open source project.

Creating a spreadsheet in Google Docs is an easy way to track things as well if you don't need all of the features that issue trackers provide.

Basecamp is great but its features are limited. I use a project management software package called Latitude and it's great since there is lots of features which could really help to manage your jobs and projects. Another thing that's great about this software package is that you can tell its vendor to customize its features the way you want it.
