Freelancers: Quoting/Estimates for Clients

Do you have your own system for doing quotes/estimates? I've talked to some people that simply go by hourly cost, then write up estimates based on time needed, and add in any extra charges. Others, charge on a per page or per type of site if the requirements fall into specific sets of criteria.

One thing I always keep in mind is that its always better to over-estimate. This is made clear to clients when I hand them the estimate.

I think of how long it would take me in total then multiply that by and then multiply by another 50-70(depends if I feel nice) for my fee

estimate = x * 2
price = estimate * 50
