Do you know Java or JavaScript?
They are different things.

I have tinkered with it a few times... it just seems like a pain, but just recently all of their docs and such have gotten much better and they've opened a lot of code up to the community (finally..).
I definitely would like to familiarize myself with it in the near future, there is money to be made with Java/JSP last I knew.

Hi,

Take a look at My Tech Rantings: PHP vs JSP - gives a good comparison of JSP and PHP.

Java (and as such, JSP) is a very powerful language and has its place in the world but I personally don't believe that it is on the web.

After looking at the comparison, I'll just stick with PHP as my only web programming language.
