Well the question just popped into my head how many tabs do you usually have open in your browser?

I usually have 10-15 open tabs

Hmmm only 4 or 5 for me I guess, I'm used to closing tabs when I don't need them anymore.
But it can reach up to 10+ when I'm googling something and I start opening results in new tabs.

I usually only really go on my computer if I'm developing so I always have good ammount of tabs open for research..

I have 4 open now. When reading blogs with pictures, I can have 20 to 30 open for each picture, so I can continue reading the article, but typically it doesn't go above 10 tabs.

Depends on what I'm doing but usually no more than 5 or 6. If they start creeping up above 5, I try to re-focus on one thing rather than trying to read a ton of pages at once

My response echoes that from Alan. Most of the time I'll have one or two tabs open, often five or six and rarely more than ten. Generally with lots of tabs open, they're not open for very long -- for example, in the morning I'll do a search for new posts here at TalkPHP and open all the topics in a new tab each, then I'll go through and read each topic. If there are topics that I want to reply to (remember this is first thing in the morning) then I'll either leave the tab open if I have time, or make a note on a piece of paper, and get back to it later rather than stalling the reading process.

This is how I'll do it except I'll reply right away. I like to reply while my mind is on that topic and then I don't have to go back and find it. Chances of me going back are slim anyways.

I always have too much tabs to handle, I really dislike it, but I can't change the bad habbit, because on the path of information gathering I come across a lot of interesting things. Does this sounds like I am addicted to information?

Devels, you're on a programming forum. We're all addicted to information. I started programming because I wanted to figure out how web sites worked, and I was really really bored at school.

Well i have about 10 plus.

And about 5 tabs i always have open, like Gmail, Lifehacker, Google reader, PHPtalk (each new topic in a new tab), And a swedish PC hardware site.

Then i just open and close tabs whenever i need a new one, or im done with the currently viewed.

At the moment just 3, Gmail, What im working at and TalkPHP. At home it can get up to 40 tabs if i'm leaving my laptop on overnight.

I once had tabs open from a week earlier. :)
