Ooo, an Earth Tremor!
Who in the UK felt that earth tremor just now? (About 1am it happened). Quite a big one that! I was upstairs as well so I felt it pretty well. I remember we had one about 6 years ago, but I was in bed... at 6pm :-$ ! That was no doubt the first one I've really experienced.

I'm in Essex. Can't say i felt anything. :-(

Heh. I live in California. We have them all the time. In fact there have been several decent quakes all around the greater outlying areas the last week or so. May be time to invest in a boat.
Fortunately I haven't been effected by any really major ones like the SF or Northridge quakes (I was woken up about 4:30AM by the Northridge quake, but it was not as bad, we're North of there). They're still pretty unsettling. I remember being a little kid when we had a pretty strong one come through, must have been early - mid 70's. (I guess I should look that up). Anyway, it didn't last long but I distinctly remember the light pole outside (about 50' tall, all steel, mounted to concrete) was wiggling back and forth like a straw. |
Hey Honey, I felt it, it was crazy, woke us from our sleep - house/windows were rattling.

I did not feel anything and i am in Cambridge, only thing i remember feeling or hearing was the Buncefield explosion lol

Closest thing I've ever been in to an earth quake in when the nearby quarry blasts. You don't even notice the shake if you are doing something.

I didn't even know about it until I saw it on the news. I'm guessing that (thankfully) it didn't reach down south here to Portsmouth.
It do any damage to your house Wildhoney? Saw some pictures on the news and in the paper today of the damage it did :-( Alan |
