What is ur favorite CMS ??

From days to days, many CMS's have been established. Some are coded by php and the others are coded by rail or asp.

Me, i have never tried the biggest's such as Drupal ..etc yet. So far i have just used google blogger, Wordpress.

Joomla and Drupal sites have been mushrooming remarkably. Especially in Vietnam, Joomla seems to cover all every percent of CMS.

So, What about you?? what is ur favorite CMS or the one you think you really need for ur future?? Ideas?? :-)

My favorite is mine. :P

The only PHP CMS I've ever used on a project was Mambo so I'd have to vote for that :-)

I haven't tried them all yet. I played around with Joomla, CMS Made Simple, WP, Drupal and Expression Engine. All have their ups and downs. CMS Made Simple is one of the easier ones to use, but it still has a ways to go before reaching Joomla's level. There are also some annoying bugs in CMSMS. Until recently, there was a nasty SQL injection issue with it.

vuthcam 01-24-2008 09:30 AM

Well..

Well i agree with obolus!! There are many bugs in CMS, the serious thing is the SQL injection.

@ Orc, That's great to code by ourself sometimes; but Knowing accurately CMS will guarantee you to finish many site projects by spending short of times.

As i remember from my Software engineering teacher, he said that Component-based softwares have been more and more popular.

At the moment, Everything, every tool exists
The problem nowadays was able to re-construct those component to meet our requirements
, he added.:-P

as orc said, i like mine best xD

i have used mambo (joomla now i believe, that was ok, but like most pre made CMS's to restrictive and complex for what i need.

My favorites are Symphony and Textpattern.

Symphony is based on XSL and is really flexible, the only downside is that you have to learn XSL, but with the video-tutorials on their site its pretty easy.

Textpattern is just the easiest one to learn if you know HTML, but it can still do some really advanced stuff.

sketchMedia 01-24-2008 04:33 PM

oooo i may try symphony, i love XSL

I never understood what XSL/XSLT was ment for? What can it do?

buggabill 01-27-2008 04:04 AM

I have only used Joomla for one project.

vuthcam 01-27-2008 06:42 AM

Actually, my coming project which i suppose to join with my teacher will be Joomla too. At the moment, i have known nothin' about that :-D

I like my Kudos CMS the most. :-P

I have been using joomla (mambo) for a while but recently switched to DRUPAL it is alot more elegant (IMO) and easier to administer. They have many useful modules / themes that can be easily customized.

abiko 03-27-2008 08:44 AM

I vote Drupal 6 and Wordpress :) - if I have to make a fast site :)
I like my own CMS, I'm developing it into its third generation :) so its my baby :D

TlcAndres 03-31-2008 06:14 PM

My own CMS - it's damned simple to add onto.

If I were to go with a system out there I'd have to go with Wordpress.

XSL stands for EXtensible Stylesheet Language.

The World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) started to develop XSL because there was a need for an XML-based Stylesheet Language.

XSLT stands for XSL Transformations. In this tutorial you will learn how to use XSLT to transform XML documents into other formats, like XHTML.

They are used to style XML documents using HTML.</offtopic>

wordpress the new 2.5 version gives you great control, and there are many themes out there for download, as well as plugins, easy to edit or create themes..

I really like it because of its ease of use, I use it for client sites because they can easily figure it out even if they are terrible with computers.
