What kind of server do you develop on?
I meant hosting!
I'm lucky enough to have a sponsored dedicated server and I have a couple of shared hosting accounts around :-) |
Used to develop on a VPS, stopped paying for it. Now I just develop on a box I have set up at home so technically you could call it a "dedicated"
I develop on a private dedicated localhost server, namely the sole computer I own. Using XAMPP I just boot the server parts I need, when I need them, and work away. However, I test on a shared server.
I use SoftLayer Technologies, Inc. Servers, they're brilliant, considering they allow you to customize :D
I voted for dedicated, but it's not your typical dedicated hosting server. It's one of our Windows 2003 Servers that we use to run Microsoft SQL server that I shoehorned Apache on to :-D

So it's like a WAMiP hah.
I develop on a MAMP setup with a local windows-based (WAMP) server for testing things occasionally (I can do load testing on there over the network whilst working happily on the Mac). Out in the big, wide world I have regular shared hosting for some sites and a VPS for some others that need more than shared hosting can provide.
Shard, but I use WAMP for certain specific purposes.
XAMPP on windows and shared for hosting my blog (heh). :-)
I am getting my old PC fixed so I can install fc8 on it and make that a server. :-D |
On my Home Network, I use WAMP
