Dude, Java was underrated in the previous posts, and that's why I kept arguing. Saying that Java is used to program washing machines and C is the almighty shit, used in rocket science, is just wrong. They both are powerful programming languages, and Java is C's child, since the main Java language is built around C and C++. But it's more practical to write a desktop application in Java than in C++. That's my sincere opinion. Only consider the libraries that would need to be ported from one system to another.

Hijacking the topic (sorry) Village would you recommend any books and online tutorials and IDE's and such for a person wanting to learn C++?
