Wine, remind me. Is that the little Linux application that emulates a Windows environment so that you can install Windows applications?

Yes, or as they define it: a set of Linux system calls which duplicate the functionality of equivalent Windows system calls, allowing Windows applications to run under Linux. (Wine Is Not an Emulator)

I do the local development on Windows Xp with Web Server Suite installed and do the online testing on linux installed web server.

WINE can only do so much.. it gets it to work, yea, but not very efficiently ;)

I've checked many PHP editors for linux.
Mainly, the one's that are tolerable are Aptana, Quanta Plus, Bluefish, and Zend.
All have their strong points.

I love Windows.......
I do use Linux sometimes but it doesn't like my computer very much, it seems to hate it actually, i tried gOS once which is based around linux (not google os, but, green os) it can apprently run on a mobile phone because its "lightweight" the problem with it is the fact that everytime you click on a link that you expect to be a program or at least would be in Windows actually opens FireFox and opens up some bizzare web 2.0 website.

Overall Window's ease of use can't be beaten.
