The Godfather
Has anybody seen this movie? I've got it to watch for tomorrow. My night in to watch a movie! I've heard good things about it but my friend told me to get Goodfellas first, which I did, and absolutely loved it. I'm just hoping that in comparison with Goodfellas, The Godfather won't let me down!
|
I'm still yet to see it, but I've been told its one of the best movies ever made.
|
I have heard many things about this movie... Mainly that it's a pretty good one...
|
Ive heard many good things, but never watched it, been recommended to a lot of times by my friends though.

You guys havn't lived if you havn't seen The Godfather, i got the boxset. It ownsssss! Watch it!
|
Bleh. I passed up the chance to watch The Godfather last weekend. Instead I watched Donnie Brasco and then Scarface. Scarface left me bored for 3 hours and Donnie Brasco, although a bit better, wasn't anywhere even close to Goodfellas.

Scarface is quite good ;o
When you watching The Godfather, go down the shop and get some salty popcorn ;] |
Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but I'm really amazed that you hadn't seen the Godfather yet, or Goodfellas. I'm not a big fan of Scarface myself, but that's not really a 'mob' movie anyway. Anyway, if you haven't seen it, check out Godfather II, I personally prefer it to the first one, as DeNiro has a role as the young Vito Corleone. The first one's a classic though.
You can't really compare it to Goodfellas, as it's a much more modern, action filled movie. Plus you've got Sorvino, DeNiro, Pesci, Liotta. I'm gonna go get the papers, get the papers. |
The first 2 Godfather movies own. The third one wasn't as good. Goodfellas and Casino are awesome mob flicks as well. Donnie Brasco is good, but is a step or two below GF and Casino.
Scarface is overrated. If you want to see a good gangster movie with Pacino in it, go watch Heat. That movie is a masterpiece. Another good DeNiro flick is Ronin. |

I couldn't have said it better myself; Heat is one of my all-time favorites. Ronin is also good, but I prefer 'The Score' w/ Ed Norton. |

I don't remember Scarface that well, but I remember I enjoyed the film and wouldn't stop imitating the guy (yeh, like everyone did). |
