Installing smarty on wehotel

Hi, how would I install smarty on a webhotel?

On my localhost it was quite easy(although not as easy as I thought), but on the webhotel I have no idea how to install it, cause I have to change the php.ini, and also I have to place the smarty folder OUTSIDE the www/ folder

Anyone knows a trick, or how to solve this?
