http error 500 - The requested operation requires elevation

I keep getting the above error and have no idea how it happened. One moment I was doing fine and the next (after reboot) I get the error and its everytime i try to preview my page.

My guess would be that a configuration file in your webserver have been altered somehow so that it gives errors..

I no longer get the error, but my script displays on the browswer instead of executing.

On your server, are short tags supported? That is if you are using them - if not then your PHP installation is haywire. try calling PHP from a .htaccess file.

:-| how do I go about doing so?

If you use some sort of WAMP then i would've reinstalled it already :)

I use xampp 1.6.6a. I've reinstalled it and still getting the same issue. I wasn't getting this before. It just happened.

See my post in the other thread... which may or may not be of any help to you. What's your OS?

I'm checking your post now. My OS is Vista

500 is an internal server error... It is a problem with the apache configuration, most likely. Improper syntax on mod_rewrite can do it.
