Default Live feedback

How would I show live feedback from something? Like say i was to want live feedback on when a new user posts, it just shows a new element with the new post, not having to refresh, etc, and xmlHttp object doesnt work like that. :/ so help

You might want to look into Comet. Here's a pretty good tutorial on How to implement COMET with PHP, including downloadable examples.
Basicly it enables you to send data without the client requesting it. Could that help you with your live feedback?
