Load data into combobox

Hello.
I need some help.*!*

I have two combobox.
In the first i have the equipment categories.
In the second i want to put the equipments that have the categorie that is choosed.

What's the easy way to do that with AJAX?

I tried to copy some code that i have found in google, but it isn't working! :-$

In the equipment categories table i have the id_categorie and categorie_name.

drop down list essentially...it's more of a desktop programming term.
