setup subversion at webhost
 

Hi I am new to subversion so do not whether i can setup subversion at my webhost or not.i think it is better compared to ftp.am i right?
if it is feasible then what are the requirements to setup it?i am using tortoise subversion client and feeling little bit comfortable using it. i googled for it but could not fing helpful information.
