A client has opened a shared account on GoDaddy. The problem is that we always work with PHP running as Apache Module but GoDaddy's shared account run PHP through CGI.

Under apache parsing PHP inside *.html documents is as easy as adding a line to .htaccess. Well that doesn't work for us and the PHP is being printed out.

I've googled but haven't found anything that works for us and since the client has already been through 3 other hosting companies which for one reason or another just wouldn't work for them - I hate to ask them to reconsider again.

To start, godaddy sucks, they are a terrible host among the terrible territory of shared hosting.

There may be an option on their admin CP to allow HTML MIME types to be parsed as PHP.

I just came across this post, so hopefully this has been resolved already. If not, the link that Salathe posted (see below) has the information you need. You will also need to run config 2.0 as the article states.

On another note, we don't encourage you to parse all of your .html pages as .php, because that means php has to load for every .html page request. It's much faster for .html pages to simply be processed by apache.
