Default Integrating a forum with a membership site?

I have a membership site that I'm working on at the minute.

I would like to integrate a forum with the site where users can get help etc. However I don't really want to make them register for the forum seperatley.

I suppose I dont mind if they have to log in seperatley but I'd like both the forum and the site to use the same username/password.

Has anybody got any idea of how I would go about doing this? Is there certain forum software that this is easier to do with?

I suggest that you use the users table that the forum software comes with for what ever integration you want to do. It's easier to do that, than to make the forum software use another custom users table.

As for the forum software, I don't think that counts. Anything works, from vanilla to Invision or VB. After all, you are not making modifications to its user system. You just query its tables :)

That would be the best way to do it. But if you are not always on top of things they can and will be overloaded with pron and ads for Viagra happened to my friends forum before.

Yes, use the table for users that the forum are using, though you can use your custom user table but i will not recommend it :)
