Money
Did you guys ever made money by scripting PHP/MySQL?
How much did you get? And what did you made? Just some questions came up to me. :P |
I did make some money through PHP. Very much so! That's several months ago though. I used to charge ~$60 an hour which is reasonable, but not too over the top. I think you should definitely find a price you're happy working for, and then add $10 or so to it. That way you're not flooded with clients, but rather the clients you do attract get your undivided attention. Although you could get thousands more clients if you charged a pittance, you'd be working yourself to death and because your time will be shared amongst many clients, they won't necessarily be getting customer satisfaction.

I'm happy with any price lol :P
The problem is that I don't have much experience on PHP scripts. I need knowledge about what they want, what do they want me to make? If I would know that I can practice on that and do jobs. |
I made £1500 for a website i developed for a electrical website using PHP.
|
wow,that's really much cash o.0
What did they wanted you to do in PHP? |
I developed a simple system for them to store their products on and display them neatly on the website, basically a database of their products easily edited and controlled via the website.

Now a days, I stick to salary, at a company doing work, and it works out to be a little bit more than that per hour. So, as Wildhoney said, you can get up to $60 an hour, easily. But you don't come out the door swinging for the fences. What I did: I did some research, tried to find out how much people in my area were charging that had a lot of the same qualifications as I did. I've made just short of everything... I've created several CMS's, CRM's, business websites (lots of those), small and large community websites, kiosk work. Even created a reality TV Casting solution. Text message campaign work, even created a little app to be ran from localhost to upload and resize images from a rock concert for this community site in Texas. You can do just short of any and every thing when you're in the web dev business. |
