Glossary...
Have you thought about installing vBglossary? (vbarticles.com)
Just thought for this type of site it would come in very handy, especially for newbee! Members can add to it so the community will feel part of it too :) |
I like that. Nice idea
Demo of one of them, http://vbarticles.com/forum/glossary.php |
What exactly would be the benefit of vBglossary?
|
shortcuts, for people like me, who doesn't know anything about the shortcuts. like IPv6 or XSL etc. and you can provide an RSS feed for it, so other people can use it on their website, without looking fo rit (i'd be more than willing to do it), otherwise, i have to make a database and store everything and use it etc.
i think its a good idea, for starters, to know what different terms mean. |

Array Constant Scalar etc would be added with a description, so it would be very easy for people to quickly find out whats what. In addition as this site gets bigger and people start talking in 'php/programming talk' any terms in the glossary that are written in posts get dotted underlined, and rolling the mouse over it - gives you a description of what the word means... Would make talkphp not only an excellent information resource, but would add to the useability especially for newbees and those that cant remb what programming phrase etc means. Just an idea, but it's perfect for things like programming sites ;) |
