Awards
Hi!
I have a question, actually 2. First: What the *beeep* is a good samaritan? Never heard that word before, so what does it mean? :-P:-P And then also, how come you can request some awards, but not the other? Does that depend on the user? Or is it like.. you admins "activate" the request:ing for certain award(s) ?? Thanks in advance! |
A compassionate person who unselfishly helps others, as in In this neighborhood you can't count on a good Samaritan if you get in trouble. This expression alludes to Jesus's parable about a Samaritan who rescues and cares for a stranger who had been robbed and badly hurt and had been ignored by a priest and a Levite (Luke 10:30-35). The Samaritans were considered a heretical group by other Jews, so by using a Samaritan for the parable, Jesus chose a person whom his listeners would find least likely to be worthy of concern. [c. 1600]
Figuratively, “Good Samaritans” are persons who go out of their way to perform acts of kindness to others, especially strangers. |
Ahh, I see. Thanks!
Then only my second question left ^^ |
The items that have Request Award beside them are the ones we feel users should be allowed to say: "Hey! I have done X and Y, I think I deserve this."
|
Ah, I see! And the other awards? Do you hand them out to whomever you think deserve them?
|
Yes, we do. Entirely up to the discretion of the administrators. If we observe something good, we'll hand out an award :-) !
