[url] tag automatically grabs site title
Hello,
I am not sure if this has been discussed before, and if it has, then I apologize for bringing it up.
I recently found out that if you use the [url] tag the following way, will not produce a link to google.com titled http://google.com, which seems the most logic.
HTML Code:
[url]http://google.com[/url]
Instead, it will produce a link by grabbing the title of http://google.com. This may sound smart, but it may also be irritating, like if the site is using a very long title:
HTML Code:
http://i1.no/06ly/ or http://i1.no/06ly/
Will return, without any tags at all:
World's longest mile. Austrian Mile Nautical Mile Spanish Mile English Statute Mile Long mile. or World's longest abbreviation. NIIOMTPLABOPARMBETZHELBETRABSBOMONIMONKONOTDTEKHST ROMONT.
If I were to post a link to i.e. GoDaddy, it would for sure look like an advertisement:
Low cost domain names, domain transfers, web hosting, email accounts, and so much more.
Am I the only one finding this rather annoying?
Yours, Runar
