Default Site speed

Hi all,

Just wondering, how quick is TalkPHP for you? It seems very slow for me, and apppears to be getting slower

A few examples, loading a thread page or forum listing generally takes between 10-15 seconds, posting a new thread/reply seems to take at least 20 seconds.

I've now got into the habbit of opening 4-5 threads in seperate tabs then going off to update my blog while I wait for them to load

Anyone else have similar experiances or is it just my dodgy NTL internet?

Alan

I use a proxy, and to open pages, for example this page, it takes 2 seconds!

The site is really fast here in the Netherlands, opens up in about 1 second or less.

It's fairly quick, according to Fasterfox it takes 3.6 seconds.

Don't know if it actually helps, since I've never surfed without it, but you can use Fasterfox to tweak your settings and help you speed up your surfing.

I'm on Virgin/NTL and it's super fast. Hmm. I can tell you the server isn't even breaking a sweat - it's one of those super duper ones with 16GB of RAM and all. Therefore I have no idea why it's slow for you! What's your ping like when you ping it?

Ping is fine - around the 150ms mark. Nothing odd in a traceroute either, maxes out at about 200ms.

Oh well, is no matter - I blame Virgin - used to them doing odd things now

Yeah. Ping is good. NTL always been really ace for me. Very few problems! Maybe a handful of times, and that's years ago. Blame your PC?
