Debate area?

I was thinking about a debate area... Basically an area where people can debate on stuff like...

"MD5 or (that other protection algorithm...)

Or things pertaining to the post on the main page... Favorite indent type?

My initial thoughts is maybe that kind of thing is more suited in the lounge. Narrowing it down to just debating may leave us with a fairly quiet section of the website, that still takes up space.
