Anybody having any connection issues with TalkPHP?

Some people have commented that TalkPHP times out for them from time-to-time, but for me it's been perfectly fine. I'd like a show of hands if you're having any connection troubles with TalkPHP in particular, please!

You should add a, "It takes a fair bit of time to load the whole page" option. :-P

I've never had it completely time about, but before all of the images load and it is officially "loaded", it can sometimes take a good 15 seconds. :-$

However, lately, it hasn't been as bad.

I haven't had any issues that I am aware of. Must be certain connections.

I had trouble on and off all day today, but things seem to have settled down now. It would time out (read: can't even talk to the server) but later it would load in a flash, only to not be accessible again later. But as I said, things are running fine now for me. *touch wood*

Works perfectly here, never a problem so far that im aware off.

Nope, I've been browsing the forums for 3 days now, and never seen any interruptions or DNS conflicts (Eg: SERV FAIL)

Not that I know of.

I hypothesise that internet connections get frostbite as well in the bitterly cold weather up north in the UK. The only 2 people who I've spoken to who have had problems with TalkPHP connectivity is WinSrev and Salathe. One's in Scotland and the other in Durham. Sound like a good theory? Nup! I didn't think so either. We'll have to keep an eye on it.

aadhunik 12-07-2007 06:31 PM

perfectly fine for me too.

Gurnk 12-07-2007 10:39 PM

I had it not connect for the first time today, and its hot where I am ;-)

sketchMedia 12-08-2007 01:32 PM

been fine for me both at work and home, people must have crappy inet's:-P.

Wildhoney 12-08-2007 02:39 PM

Hmm, apparently there's been a big router gone down in the UK. They may have explained the issues, I don't know.

Same thing happens here.

I think that only affected one ISP, and i don't think BT was one of them.

Haha! Nice theory, it's probably true.

datahound 12-08-2007 04:11 PM

Very slow to load for me when moving from page to page.

Jay 12-08-2007 04:12 PM

What connection speed are you on? Cable, DSL, 56k, etc..?

datahound 12-08-2007 04:16 PM

NTL Cable. I am member of other boards on vbulletin but don't have these delays. Seems worst when clicking go to last post.

Wildhoney 12-08-2007 04:20 PM

Hmmm, I'm on Virgin/NTL cable as well. Whereabouts are you located? If you don't mind me asking.

datahound 12-08-2007 04:24 PM

I'm in Bracknell Berks. It clicks along fine most of the time, as I am testing it now. But I do get these big pauses. Not complaining, you asked. Could be waiting for your ad feeds?

I can't say that i've been having any problems, seems to be all clear down in AUS

It affected me and I am with BT, I flagged up the issue with the server tech guys, they got me to run a tracert and let me know it was a router going out of London Docklands to Europe failing.
