Speed of TalkPHP

Guys,

Is it just me that is noticing that the forum seems slow?

Whilst other forums and sites tend to load within 1-2 seconds; TalkPHP.com tends to take upwards of 30 seconds per page to load.

This makes browsing the forum a little irritating.

Is anyone else seeing the same problem?

Is there anything that can be done to speed it up?

it seems to be loading qiuickly to me. increase the size of your cache.

The site does load relatively slowly for me, around 5-10 seconds per page but not as slowly as 30 seconds.

Hmm not that slow for me, relatively fast, I'll be sure to take a look into it though :)

In IE6/IE7 it shows the header nav. Then waits 5-10 seconds en then spits out the rest of the page. It does this every page, every time. Sometimes it's a bit annoying. But no big deal in my opinion.

Indeed.

I have just tried it with Firefox, and the problem seems to have vanished.

I wonder what IE isn't liking.

IE doesn't like a lot of things. Best stick to Firefox.

I think it's because of the google analytics and google ads, with them it had to make more connections before it can continue.

Maybe it's due to the digg effect?

Wildhoney 11-12-2007 12:54 PM

Seemed OK in IE to me, actually. I'll get some other people to test today.

Pretty fast in IE, takes a good second in FF.

bluesaga 11-13-2007 10:45 AM

Digg effect shouldn't have any effect, this server is dedicated and runs on load 0.00 with websites receiving in excess of 200k pageviews per day. Maybe its a design issue, try iframing the adsense normally works better that way
