Default which ORM to use ?

hi everybody
i started to learn Doctrine but i feel some complexity i wanna write my own ORM solution to understand the core idea of these ORM's or even read a simple orm solution of your choice .

also what do i need to know about databases before that , i know the tutorial on w3schools.com about SQL but there are some complex ideas about relationships in all ORM's that i met so far !

waiting for your opinions !

Hello adham, have you looked at this ?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Object-relational_mapping
http://www.orm.net/

Might be of some use,
more information candy to the brain at least :)

Thanks very much mr.code freek

the problem was that Doctrine's documentation is really poor , they just offer a book but no function reference , i am reading kohana's documentations and searching for other ORM's in www.sf.net to compare and understand common things between Doctrine and other ORM's so i can understand all !
