So I Plan on Making a PHP Socket Server Just to Try a different skill in the language i love which is PHP,My question to th Community Does Anyone Have Experience in PHP Sockets? What I Plan to Do is make a Chat Server From PHP Where multiple users can connect Talk to each other etc... and also Plan to make it So that u need a valid registered Account And also Have a Group/Rank System And Staff Detection Along with Staff Commands Such as Kick/Ban Hide etc...
What I wanna know from the community 1.)Is this Possible 2.)How limited will this Actually be 3.)Who wanna join this Project


My experience so far in PHP Sockets are Just Basic Socket Creation And is Able to Send 1 message then Close. I'm Working on making a more efficient "LOOP" for the Server.

You probably would need a daemon that will continue to listen on that port. Unfortunately, php sucks at this! You would need to look into ruby or even C to do it.
